It was the middle of the night. The moon and stars were out and shining, allowing a bit of light on the grounds. Walking from the mansion and across the grounds was a girl. She was wearing a tank top, that was showing her stomach and pj pants. She walked across the lawn barefooted and soon stop. She then sat down on the grass and leaned back onto her elbows.
She looked out and around her, remembering everthing that had happened, since she had frist arrived here at the mansion. Riley began to miss everyone, since she felt like they were apart of her family, since she didn't have any. She hated knowing that they were either missing or dead and that should could have helped them or at least saved some of them, but then she wasn't a full member of the X-men team and just wanted her to help out the students and get them out and away from the mansion. Riley then sighed and looked down at the ground.

Anna could not sleep. Every time she did sleep she would have nightmares of things she couldn't remember when she woke. She decided to go for a walk. She put on a loose grey dress which was the easiest accessible piece of clothing she had. She walked out of her room and made her way outside.
She saw her best friend Riley and walked over to her. "Hey Riley." She said softly, placing a hand on the angel's shoulder. "You can't sleep either aye?

Once Anna had placed her hand on Riley, she quickly looked up from the ground and over at Anna. Riley smiled at her, glad to see her. "Hey Anna. Yeah I couldn't get to sleep. I had lot on my mind. What are you doing up though?" she asked her.
Riley patted the ground beside her to let Anna know that she could sit down and they could talk some more. She then quickly pushed all of the sad memories away in the back of her head, not wanting to have a sad conversation with Anna.

Anna took the offered seat next to Riley and sighed. "I can't sleep either. Every time I do I have nightmares that are terrible enough to wake me up, but then when I wake up I can't remember what it was about." She shook her head, making her hair shimmer in the moonlight. "Maybe they're about the attack on the school... maybe they're about my childhood. I can't say because I can't remember."
Painful memories were associated with both meantioned events. The attack on the school the most recent and the strongest memory. Screaming filling the normally peaceful halls, Logan telling her to run while his claws sliced through another masked man. Logan... A tear escaped down her cheek. He had been one of her closest friends or at least she had trusted him like one. She had also cared very deeply for him but had never told him. Marie... Bobby.. Kitty... they were all gone as well. Missing or dead. She sighed sadly and tried to smile at Riley, but found her face wouldn't cooperate.
